Royal Plans?

I am probably not going to marry a prince, unless royalty had to get a second job and started delivering pizzas, so my dreams of becoming a princess are pretty much slim to nothing. But I am very excited to watch the wedding of my lifetime take place this Friday.

I am not, repeat am NOT going to get my butt up at 4 am to watch the coverage. Let's be real, us commoners have to work for a living and 4am is not in my schedule.

I need your help followers! What channel does Sir DVR need to be set on. I've got the prime time special 'Inside the Royal Wedding' on NBC set to record, what channel are you tuning into for the big show? Let me know what you are doing to prepare for the big day!

Joined the Party, Missed the Drinks

I mean really what's a party without drinks anyway.

I know it's a dance party and a fitness workout, but I honestly wasn't expecting for it to kick my butt like it did. Maybe I was just shakin' it hardcore. It was worth it though, you do forget you are working out. Monday nights are now my Zumba night for the next six weeks. Hopefully I can get the moves down a little more the next couple times. I've got to get my butt in gear or OL is threatening to come wake me up at 5am drill seargent style and make me get into shape.

Thank You Weather!

Well yesterday was pleasant break from the April showers, which means I was able to make the ride over to the big city for the annual Spring Open House and Blessing of the bikes. The ride over was quite windy not gonna lie, but I knew the ride home would be smooth sailing with the wind at our back.

I'm really glad we showed up when we did because we got one of the last few spots in the lot. There were hundreds of bikes there, it was awesome! Bikes of every make and model were there too.

How it works it, all these bikes move from their parking spot and get into a double line that will split into three. Once you get to the three lanes there are three stations. At each of the stations there is about three or four people there who are part of the Christian Motorcycle Association, they lean over you and your bike and give you a blessing for a safe riding season.

I also got a present from the Fedex man yesterday, my chaps arrived yesterday so now I will officially not freeze my arse off when it's cold. :)

PS I have never seen as many leather-clad people as I did yesterday, I'm guessing PETA is not really a fan of motorcyclists.

Celebrity Birthdays

Celebrity birthdays for April 20th...

Joey Lawrence is 35
Carmen Electra is 39
Ryan O'Neal is 70
George Takei is 74
Adolf Hitler would be 122
Old Lady is ???

No one can say for sure how old she is exactly she doesn't like to say but we do know she is somewhere between the ages of 20 and 100, we don't like to speculate. OL had a great day full of laughs and presents and more laughs.

She was having such a great day, I had to snap a picture of her enjoying her day doesn't she look so happy blowing out her candles.

I kid, I kid... Happy Birthday OL! I hope you had a great day, I love your "vintage" flair, and when you're not at work my days are dreary and gray, you're the reason I make it in some days. So here's to many more years of calendars and candles... I hope it really was a great birthday for ya..

Love,
Easy Rider

Simon Rolled Over

Simon, my 2007 Nissan Sentra SL has rolled over to 100,000 miles. Holy Moly. I drive a lot. Sadly it's mostly been just to and from work. Simon and I have been to Nashville, Tennessee twice, then to Asheville, North Carolina to Biltmore Estate with Gma then down to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina for a Spring break trip one year and back and forth to work ever since.
I bought Simon the weekend before I started my first grown up full time job at the insurance company, my first brand spankin' new car; he only had about 8 miles on him way back then. We've been through a lot my Simon and me... so Happy 100,000 Simon, here's hoping for 100,000+ more (no really you're almost paid off so don't crap out on me anytime soon!)

I should mention Simon is not my first car, not my first love. My first car was Herman, a 2004 Ford Probe. Herman has been passed down through all the Bo children, he is currently in the posession of NiBo and goes by the name Frank now, short for Frankenstein (which is literally, he is about ready to go to the big car park in the sky being held together by a few bolts) Herman was the bombdiggity back in the day, fully matching side panels and flip up lights I thought I was the coolest. Here we are back in 2002, the day I turned 16 and could hit the roads solo... it's perfectly normal to be jealous, so go ahead.

We had some good times me and Herman, but with the ground clearance of a midget I'm happy to sit a little bit taller in Simon, and who knew four doors could be so convienient, and cruise control what a blessing, bluetooth and automatic windows... fogettabout it!

Leave some love for your first car! What did ya have? and give a shoutout if you got 100,000 miles! Keep on truckin'!

10 Things: On My Want List

It's been a pretty uneventful week here at North of 10th. I've been working 12 hour days for most of the week and I worked yesterday gearing up for more OT this week. I know it doesn't make sense to be spending more time at a job that is bugging me, and we start training some new people this week for our new system (hello headache) but the extra money is too sweet to turn down.

10 Things on my Want (not necessarily my need) List

- The movie I want to be in the Redbox
- Zero calories in all my food
- Nice weather for the 23rd or On demand would be awesome
- A House in the country
- Forward controls for my bike
- To win the lottery
- Quit my job and find my true calling
- Travel the world
- Patience to deal with the stresses at work
- The faith to believe things will work out

40°F + 60mph = 24°F... Which is Cold

Tonight was the first HOG meeting where the weather was halfway decent enough to ride, which of course meant leaving the car at home this morning... and remember I've been working some OT. Which means that in order to get to work this morning by 7 I had to leave at 6, the temperature this morning when I left was 40°F when you add in the fact that you are totally exposed to the elements at 60mph it apparently felt like 24°F this morning when I rode in, further confirming the fact that I need to purchase a few heavier things to keep me warm.

I don't have a whole lot else going on, just been working and working some more. Work is still stressful, more stupid things show up daily. As I mentioned tonight was another HOG meeting, I thought there would be more people who would ride and I didn't want to look like the whimp but turns out I was among the minority for this round. It's always fun to have boys be jealous of a girl's bike. Each month I try to sit with someone different to learn their names and expand my acquaintance list.

I also did something tonight that I have never done and to be a little honest it made me a little bit nervous, ok well two things I've never done. First thing, the group usually meets at the dealership and then rides over together to wherever dinner is. So I dropped by and there was only one person who was riding over. So tonight was my first time riding in kind of a group event. The second thing tonight was driving actually through traffic through Btown. I have an easy route to work when I ride and never have a need to weave through town with all the stop lights and traffic and blah blah blah. But tonight I weaved through the big city traffic pretty easy, I was pretty proud of myself, sometimes you doubt yourself for no reason. Gotta have a little bit of faith in yourself sometimes.

Point of this post? No point really other than to let you know I was cold this morning and that I sometimes surprise myself. Holla!

More Warm Weather Please, Hold the Wind

This weekend was absolutely gorgeous, minus the crazy wind today. It makes me very ready for the warmness to stick around. I finally got around to installing my latest bike purchase this weekend, my solo bag (the thing with the buckles) I'm really hoping the 10 day forecast stays looking the way it does for Wednesday. If it holds up it will be the first month it's been nice enough to ride to this month's HOG meeting. When the weather turns nicer the dinner meetings get a little farther away and the group rides together to the final destination.

I've got a few other things planned coming up too so I'm really hoping the weather will stay nice. Later this month the Btown HD dealer has their Spring open house and annual Blessing of the bikes sponsored by the Christian Motorcyclists Association. I've been before as a passenger and there are so many bikes, I'm really excited to get to go this year on my own bike.

May has a lot of events coming up too. It is also Women's rider month, and the Cpaign HD dealer is having a women's only ride to Arthur for lunch at Yoders and I'm looking forward to that too. And it's also the first Bike Night of the year at BDubs, last year every single time it would be great weather for weeks then the Wednesday of Bike Night rolled around and it would ALWAYS be storming and raining. I think there was maybe 1 night that it wasn't terrible weather, total bummer. So I really hope the weather will be nice for those days.

Bite the Bullet

Well I worked the OT yesterday and I'm going to try to work it all next week, there are so many things I could do with the extra money.. sure pay bills would be the smartest but it's extra money I wasn't expecting so I'm going to spend it on me or the bike or the car, I can't decide.

Today is beautiful (minus the wind) I'm not a fan of leisurely motorcycle rides in 35+mph gusts of wind; it's too much work, so I think I might clean but since I'll take any distraction I can to avoid doing what I should be doing here ya go...

I am... still trying to figure things out.

I want... to have no debt by 30.

I have... a Harley.

I wish... on every shooting star, 11:11, eyelashes, and every front necklace clasp and anything else I think will work.

I hate... getting stuck by a train when you are already running late.

I fear... being alone and never having a family of my own.

I hear...  the wind outside.

I search... for the remote when I could go push the button.

I wonder... if things really will turn out ok and if everything really does happen for a reason.

I regret... not having the real college experience and living in the dorms and making college friends.

I love... quotes.

I ache... after I workout, when/if I work out.

I always... try to stay positive.

I usually... wear cowboy boots.

I am not... living to my potential.

I dance... like Elaine on Seinfeld.

I sing... like I think I'm good. (I'm not)

I never... say never.

I sometimes... say never.

I cry... at sentimental things, and I didn't use too. Like Oprah shows and 'One Born every Minute' and those previews for soldiers coming home and surprising their family.

I lose... hope sometimes.

I am grateful... for everyone who has showed me kindness in my life.

I need... a man friend.

I should... be cleaning right now.

You're next... anyone who reads my blog and has a blog and hasn't done this yet. :)

Need More Mental Health Days

Yesterday I took advantage of the midweek decent weather and took myself a mental health day, life needs more mental health days. I managed to catch up on my sleep, watch parts 1-3 of Mildred Pierce on HBO and changed the oil in my bike AND I did it all by myself, saved 60 bones!

Today was yet another stressful day at work, they seem to be more abundant lately unfortunately. I'm glad to have a job don't get me wrong, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have such a good job, but that doesn't make me enjoy it any more. We have the option of working OT starting Saturday and I'm debating whether or not to partake. We are down several people and our work is piling up, it would be very nice to have the extra money but I don't know if it's worth the extra headache.

This has been one of the longer winters I can remember. I know it's technically Spring but I haven't been convinced. I know April showers will bring May flowers, but I'm ready to get out and about. Weigh in for Biggest Loser was yesterday too, I wasn't up but was only down like 2oz, better than nothing but I need to kick it up a notch or three or four. Warmer weather will help and I can get out on the bike finally!

It was also brought to my attention that I have a tendency to participate in things that are predomently older people. I don't know how this happens all the time but it very often does. I guess I have problems relating to people my own age, I've always been told I'm very mature for my age. I never did the whole big party scene in college like most people my age, partly because I was working. I worked full-time and went to class in the evenings; there were some people my age but most were older adults going back to school to get their degrees. I was hoping that getting out of my comfort zone and joining the HOG chapter would help, but again it's more older people. I don't really know how it keeps happening. I guess I'll have to work on it some more. Page Turner has given me the challenge of meeting people born before 1978. If you or anyone you know were born before 1978 let's hang out, have a drink and chat lol.

Who Knew 60 Seconds Could Be So Humbling

Sometimes you can give yourself way too much credit. I was this close to signing up for a 10k through the countryside in June but after tonight I don't know about that, I have until May 14th to try to kick my butt into high gear.

My dad and I have signed up for our high school's 'Biggest Loser Falcon Style' contest, so I have some extra motivation. I've been trying to watch what I've been eating but to become a contender I had to stop researching and planning and kick into high gear and put my planning into action, to the track I went.

I have the C25K (couch to 5k) and an ease into 10k app for my wonderful iPhone. I was so pumped when I found the countryside race and I'm thinking in my head I know I'm a little out of shape but I think I can handle the first week's training of the 10k no problem.... man was I wrong. Since my dad was joining me we took it slow and went with the 5k training, sounds simple enough right?! A brisk five-minute warmup walk then alternating 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes then a five-minute cool down, this is just week 1, it's only going to increase from here. Holy Moly is 60 seconds a long time, I am not in as near of good shape as my mind thought, lungs definately showed mind who was boss tonight. Towards the end I finally got to where I didn't think I was going to die.

This app is great though, you can listen to your own music and then the nice British lady will tell you when to run and when to walk (I may have walked a little longer on some) Ya gotta start somewhere right?

 My mind saw Prefontaine greatness..
My body said Homer Simpson...
