Best Email Subject Line Ever?

You've Been Chosen to Experience Project LiveWire
Schedule Your Test Ride Now

I think I have just received the best email subject line ever! I was training a class all day and didn't have time to check my email like I normally would, and after I got home from work I just wasn't into clearing out the day's junk email and newsletters so I kept putting it off. Just a bit ago I was going through my email before bed on my phone and saw the subject line. You've Been Chosen to Experience Project LiveWire - Schedule Your Test Ride Now

Um, what?! I need to see this on a bigger screen, so I hop onto the computer and yep! That's what it says! And that beautiful picture you see above was just sitting in my inbox.

Backstory: June of this year Harley Davidson announced their first electric bike, Project LiveWire . It's turned the whole motorcycle world upside down, an electric bike? And one that looks cool? I try to keep up with the happenings in the Harley world and this was pretty awesome when the news broke. They had announced they would be taking a fleet of Project LiveWire bikes on the road for demo's and to get rider input. I didn't think too much of it at the time because they wasn't any tour stops around me that had demo's. They were mostly just stops where you could stop and stare at the bike, eh, I want to ride! A few months later when I checked again there was going to be a stop nearby! You know I signed up and made my friend Skinny who rides sign up to.

Fast forward to today and we both got invites! We are scheduled for a test ride November 8th at 9am! I seriously don't know if I could be more excited! Stay tuned for the big day and check back for the whole scoop!

10 Things: Arizona Life

I'm still settling into life here in Arizona but I have a few observations:

* The ice cubes I make myself (from my filtered water) taste like garbage and smell like it too, can't figure that one out.

* I eat too much pizza, Jacks, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut, is there an AA for that or do they just call it Weight Watchers? For real, I need help.

* Afternoon traffic on the exact same roads takes twice as long as morning traffic.

* When signs warn of your lane ending and to merge, Arizonians take that to mean stay in the lane as long as possible then cut over right as the lane actually ends.

* It's been consistently in the upper 80's (sorry Illinois folks) but the air conditioning is set on polar in the office, so I've been wearing my cardigan sweaters.

* 90° really doesn't feel like Illinois 90° I'll let you know what 120° in the shade feels like.

* I haven't been to the pool yet, because well... I'm scared of the sun. Not like heliophobia style, I just don't want a sunburn. Then someone said that the higher the SPF after 15 the more chemicals there are. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess, so I'll stay inside.

* I'm thankful my job has a parking garage that keeps my car cool during the day.

* It sprinkled once since I've been here, like just enough to make my car ridiculously dirty. In Illinois I would wait it out for the next rain to wash it off, might have to pay up and go through the wash.

* There is an overwhelming amount of things to enjoy 'round these parts. Trying to get my AZ Bucket list together, I thought about doing something every weekend but that seems like a lot. Outside things are kind of out of the question during the summer, even the Zoo closes early (obvs, don't want the animals to melt) So I'll have to find indoor things to do and keep cool.

Bucket List: Notre Dame Football Game- check!

A HUGE bucket list item checked off the list today! See a Notre Dame home football game... check! Even better that dad was there too! I had been checking the weather forecast all week and wouldn't you know it, cold and 50% chance of showers... we'll get to that.

After our lovely drive over to South Bend, with a few sprinkles and showers on the way, we made it to the home of The Fighting Irish! The skies were mostly cloudy with blue peeking through here and there. We arrived in plenty of time so we were able to walk around campus. Seriously, I have never seen a more beautiful campus before, lots of trees and older buildings. The building you see above is the golden dome which is home to the admissions and administrative offices.

Here's a look from the inside.

And we had to take a walk to see the lake... beautiful!

and to the grotto.

But this is where our story turns soggy. After we went to check out the grotto we made our way to the bookstore, I needed to stock up on some ND gear. Once we got there holy moly, nevermind, I'll shop online. Then as we stepped outside the heavens opened up and rain came pouring down, oh and the wind picked up out of nowhere. Boom. Soaked.

But don't fear! We came prepared! Well, as well as you can be prepared with a Dollar Store emergency poncho. So we poncho'd up and waited out the rain under the cover of safety and semi-warmth. But soon the rain turned to drizzle, then to a fine mist, then it was safe to venture out to our seats.

Oh hey there NBC, they were set up shop right in front of us, luckily their little tent folded down at game start, but popped back up again at halftime and blocked some of our view of the marching band.

Then something happend, you might even call it a miracle, but the clouds gave way and blue skies poked through just as the Marching Band was taking the field for their pregame performance. They began with America the Beautiful, then began the Star Spangled Banner.

As soon as the last line of the Star Spangled Banner hit, the roar of six Navy Blue Angels jets came in from above. This is seriously one of the coolest things I have experienced in some time. It was just that awesome.

It's a full house!

Those fellas in the blue pants are the pilots that did the fly over

Notre Dame touch down! Time for push ups!

The Navy mascot, he's a goat

Here's the band at halftime, you can see the Irish Guard and the NBC tent in our way

It may have been cold, it may have been rainy, but it was still totally an amazing experience to be at Notre Dame on game day. I would gladly go again. I will say some days it's better to be a home in your comfy warm clothes and watch the game at home. But nothing will ever beat the experience of sitting on a little piece of wood bleacher soaked from the rain, with a soaked butt watching from row 7, seat 10, section 23 for my first Notre Dame game. There aren't even words capable of describing the feeling. Glad you could be there dad, sorry Navy lost, it was close. ;)

Notre Dame - 38
Navy - 34

Go Irish!

New Things

Holy moly has it been a busy couple of days, sorry I missed the throw back Thursday, I know how much you all enjoy that. But I'm back and I'll update you on everything that has happened.

I've tried a new ethnicity of food. Indian food! (sorry OL for the food pic, I know how much you hate them) but I had to show you my plate. Everything had some sort of spicy heat to it. Over all it was good. Would I go back? Probably not anytime soon. I'm good for many many months. So I can just go ahead and cross Indian Food off my bucket list.

Clean plate, I survived!

The other new thing that happened is a cut and color, new and improved and now with Bangs! All my throw back Thursday pictures as a wee little one I had bangs so I decided to give Fall's hot look a try this season. So far everyone has said they liked them, like they would tell me if they looked hideous. But I like them... for now anyway lol, they may get annoying. Luckily my hair grows fast if I don't want to keep em.

On The Last Day of Sumner

As summer fades to an end, NiBo and I made the best of the last day of summer. He usually never has a Saturday off but for a change today he did and we had to do something fun in honor of that, and the last day of summer. So we went to Chicago!

On our way to our Museum destination we took a stroll through Grant Park and checked out the Buckingham Fountain.

Our last Chicago adventure included the Art Museum, this time we opted to check out the Field Museum. Neither of us had been up to the museum for many many years. We went with the VIP ticket which got us into a 3D Movie about the T-Rex dinosaur Sue on display and access to a few other exhibits which weren't as cool.

My favorite part of the museum was definitely the fossils, fossils of any kind, but mostly the dinosaurs, because well dinosaurs are awesome.

The last time we went to Chicago we tried to go to the Skydeck but didn't feel like waiting in line for hours, so we called it a day. This time was different, we didn't have to be home so soon to get ready for Monday, so we decided no matter what we'd wait. When we got to Willis Tower they said it would be a two hour wait, blah, ok we'll wait.

They queued you up in a couple spots so at least you felt like you were moving. Most of the people in line were from foreign countries, even as Illinoians we took the tourist destination bait and waited and waited in line. While we waited they had slide show pictures of Chicago views on the TV monitors, we found it funny and odd that people were cramming to take pictures of the pictures. Wouldn't you rather go out into the city and actually see them? How do you explain that, " well why I was waiting in line I took some pictures of the pictures of Chicago" Also we learned that people do not know proper line etiquette, which can be annoying, but is just par for the course I suppose.

Once we got to the top, which only ended up being about an hour wait, the views were worth it! And the glass boxes that stick out the side of the 103rd floor were pretty cool too!

Happy last day of summer! Hope you got to live it up too!
