TGIF

The other day when Gpa, dad and I were driving to the Dbacks game, I happened to notice the First Solar building that has opening and closing shutters on the side of the building spelled out TGIF. I have been here a year and have literally never noticed it before and I drive by this building every day on my way home. Thinking it could have been a one time thing I made sure to check again on my way home today, and sure enough! TGIF!

After some Google research, I discovered they have a history of writing things on their building. I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for ya and share any new designs I see.

Happy Friday!

Also a birthday shoutout to my favorite Great Uncle from Georgia, hope you had a great day! ;)

The Snow Pile

You may remember me talking about the Illinois winter that would never end right? Believe it or not, winter is still not giving up just yet.

This photo was taken while I was waiting for dad to get off work on February 10th, that is my car, a Ford Escape. This picture was actually taken before we got several more huge snows. They had end loaders up on top trying to pile the snow higher so they would have room for all of it. I should note that this is all the snow from a huge parking lot, this happened to be the area where they had to pile it all, since they ran out of room. Only so much of the pile would actually fit in the picture.

When I left for Arizona, I made dad promise to keep me posted on the pile, I was curious to see how long it would take it all to melt.

Here is the April 16th update...

and here is today's update, May 7th...

Snow gets so gross as it melts and all the dirt particles show. Yuck! I'm surprised there is so little left, I joked that it would last until June, but I'm not that far off!

The weather back home has finally hit the 70's so it's been good and warm to melt that snow! Today I was surprised that it was warmer back home than it was here today! It only made it up to 77°F today, and was 90°F back home! The thing about 90° back home is the humidity, mom said it was starting to feel sticky out today.

Don't feel too bad for me, here is what next week's forecast is looking like

I'm told that my dad was given a little bit of crap for bring a kid in a Navy jacket to an Air Force Air Show. But here I am rockin' my Navy jacket in an Air Force plane givin a thumbs up. I'm one cool kid.

Country Drive Sky

While driving home last night, it was a little bit later than usual. OL and I had joined some friends at our annual Fall Festival dinner at the park. This time of year is by far my favorite, windows down letting the wind blow through your hair and jammin out to the radio. Almost every farm you pass has combines going in the fields. There is just such a unique feeling in the air that only happens in the fall.

I had to take a slight detour last night coming into town as a grain wagon had tipped over and the road was blocked while they were scooping up all the grain that had spilled. Luckily this detour gave me a minute to see the sky filled with the most beautiful colors as the sun slipped away to bed just beneath the horizon. The crescent moon with it's neighboring planet filled the night sky with a soft twinkly glow, and the phone couldn't even capture it all in the picture. These little moments, like taking in an Autumn sunset on a country drive home, are the snapshots of life that I hope I never take for granted.

Throw Back Thursday: Woolrich

Here is a throw back picture to 2008. A.Drama and I took a bus trip to New York City, which ended up being a bus load of old folks... no really. They loved us! But they were totally excited about the stop in Pennsylvania to the original Woolrich store. A.drama and I did not understand the excitement but old people be cray about Woorich.

It's funny that we had never really heard of Woolrich or seen another Woolrich store, but now we've seen them several different times in different places we've been.

In fact here is A.Drama in Mackinaw City, MI last year in front of the Woolrich store.

Happy Thursday!

Throw Back Thursday: Homecoming

It's that time of year here in small town... it's Homecoming week. Tonight under cover of darkness students will sneak onto unsuspecting teachers and strangers' yards to throw toliet paper up in their trees. I did watch the parade and got candy thrown at me, there were tootsie rolls so I was ok with the candy projectiles.

Here is a throw back to my 2000 Freshman Homecoming dance with me and my date. I loved this dress color, I remember I was so excited when I found a fingernail polish that matched perfectly. Gma made this and my matching purse. It comes in very handy to have a Gma who can sew, she made several formal dresses for me and saved us a boat load of cash! Hard to believe this picture was 13 years ago! Holy moly.

Happy Thursday! You're almost to the weekend!

The Weinermobile and Cinnamon Pumpkin Pedicures

Today was a very exciting day here in small town, The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile made a stop in town today! How exciting!! Of course we had to make an appearance and get a few photos, and hot dog it up for the camera... haha get it, "hot dog!"

We even picked up a few goodies at our visit. The standard weiner whistle, an 'I saw it' sticker and a key chain! Sweet!

Then A.Drama and I head off to the big city for a little sister bonding time for mani's and pedi's. She told me she saw a sign that the nail place we go to had Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice pedicures, and thought we'd give it a try. On our way down I asked her if maybe she was confused and it was for a coffee place, she assured me it was for a pedicure.

Well when we got there.... turns out she was right! It was AMAZING!! There was pumpking scrub, pumpkin oil, and pumpkin butter cream lotion! It still smells so good, and left our feet very soft! Sure pumpkin is overdone this time of year, but I'm all for a pumpkin spice pedicure.

I went for a fall shade on my nails to get into the fall theme, with OPI's Espresso Your Style.

Then we went to Target, and the Target eye got the better of us and we ended up buying more than we needed. At this point NiBo joined us, and the eye got him too.

Oh and in case you were wondering, Target has their Halloween stuff out.

Then we ended our day with more sister bonding time back at home... this consists of us both sitting on the computer. mostly on Pinterest, and telling the other when we have found something cool or funny. We are also attempting to get a jump start on our Christmas shopping, or at least getting our lists together. Only 100 more days ya know!

Busy busy weekend with lots of fun things. 7 more days until it's officially fall! Hope everyone had a great weekend too, I know I sure did!

Throwback Thursday

I had the day off today, mostly because I didn't want to go to work, is that bad? Today was great! I slept in, watched movies, cleaned the bugs that had fallen into my pool, it was great! Mostly because I wasn't at work, that makes any day great!!

Enjoy today's throwback Thursday photo of me opening presents on one of my birthday's presumably. Almost every picture I find of me in my youth I was rocking some adorable bangs, I think they might need to make a comeback don't you?
