One More Day!!

Only one more day of work then, Boomshakalaka! Germany Vacation time!! I should probably really start to think about packing a few things, I did at least make a Target run, so that's good. OL don't worry I won't forget your keychain ;)

It's my first plane ride as you'll remember, any frequent fliers out there with some last minute plane travel tips? or Foreign country travelers with advice?

As I'm watching the weather for the rest of this week... yuck! 90's I thought we were done, oh well did I mention that the weather is going to be amazing while we're there?! Mid to lower 70's and a few low 80's... love

Epic Father Daughter Dance

If you know my dad this is even more hilarious. A.Drama.B and dad's father daughter dance was their own rendition of the Evolution of Dance. Check it out!

The wedding went super great and was over before I knew it, I was so busy I have literally like zero pictures. I'll find the few I did manage to get and post them tomorrow... I have a date with my bed. LONG day!

Zonked Out from the Weekend

After spending the weekend in Chi, I'm still recovering from my lack of sleep. We had so much fun for a Girls Night Out in the City, and my appologies but there aren't a lot of pictures, here are the best of the very few that were taken of A.Drama.B's big night out!

That's really all I've got. The weather was perfect, we walked around like little hicks in the city but we had fun. People would yell at her "Don't do it!" or "Congrats!" We went to Dick's Last Resort for dinner where you pay to have people be rude to you and make you embarassing hats. To keep A.Drama.B from total embarassment we'll keep those pictures away. Then we hung out at the hotel for a bit and chatted before we hopped on our bus for our tour. We learned a lot about Chicago's sexy past and a few spooky stories about ghost hauntings and serial killers, exciting stuff!

If you are ever in Chicago, definately worth taking a Weird Chicago tour, they have mob tours, ghost tours and just about anything weird you want to know, they know a story. Sunny our tour guide was so awesome!

I scored a few points in the find an expensive foreign car NiBo and I play.. I found a Ferarri F430 Spider.... NICE!

We got back home Sunday around noon and I think everyone headed home for a nap. I took a short nap then NiBo was calling wanting to go find his classes before school started today (he's offically a Freshman in college as of today) pick up a few school supplies and offered to take me to a movie :) he even paid! We ended up seeing Fright Night starring Colin Farrell. The movie wasn't bad, they updated the story for it to make more sense in modern day, but I'm gonna say I still like the first one a little better. Vampire was mucho hotter in this one but I liked the way to story progressed a little better in the other. Hopefully Hollywood will find a creative bone in their body and stop remaking classic 80's movies.

Time's a tickin, Saturday is the big day! Then 4 days later I'm on a plane! Maybe after the wedding I'll have time for Germany to sink in and freak out, I should still probably get on that list of what to take hmmm... and don't worry OL I won't forget your keychain ;)

~ Bachelorette Party Time! ~

We are a few hours away from A.Drama.B's last fling before the ring! We both aren't into the whole typical bachelorette party experience, because really male strippers are icky and it's just really not our scene, we're both kinda shy (me more so than her) We have an evening of not-your-typical-bachelorette-party fun planned, dinner and a three hour private Weird Chicago Tour. If you're a fan of ghost stories and haunted places and are ever in Chicago, these tours are a must see! Tonight we will see a combination of their Ghosts, Pubs and Red Light Sex District tours for what I hope will be a super fun Girls Night Out in the City for everyone!! Check back tomorrow for the pictures I'm allowed to share ;)

Let's Play a Game!

It's called how much can you jampack into three weeks?! Well here's what we are going to try. This week I'm working 7-7 OT to make some extra money and Saturday is Drama's Bachelorette party in Chicago. The following Saturday is the wedding then, September 1st I am taking my very first plane ride ever to..... Germany for 12 days, a much needed vacation.

Yes, you read that right. GERMANY, the land of my ancestors. I will also be making an appearance in Salzburg, Austria which is where the sound of music was filmed. I will get to see if indeed the hills are alive with the sound of music.

Other stops on the 2011 European tour include our home base in Schweinfurt, overnight stay in Munich, a visit to Rothenburg and several other cities surrounding home base... a lot of burgs.

My passport arrived yesterday so I am all officially ready to fly. So let's think about this, my first flight will be a 9 hour direct flight from Chicago to Frankfurt on a Boeing 777 airplane. Go big or go home! Bucketlist items will be crossed off like nobody's business. Already complete 1-Get a passport. Other items to be crossed off visit a foreign country, take a plane trip. etc etc. Not one but TWO countries will be visited. I am so excited that I really can't even think about it just yet, wedding first then Germany. Even more exciting that it will be Fall over there with crisp temperatures hoovering around 70's during the day, PERFECT! time of year.

We will just miss Oktoberfest but I'm not too sad, although it would be fun to say I'd been there, the thought of 6 million people makes me less enthusiastic about it. There are however tons of wine festivals going on so maybe we'll have a chance to hit up one of those, I have never been to a festival so that could be another bucket list item off! So much to do, so little time!! I should probably start to think about stuff to pack!! Here's a few places I hope to see up close in person during my travels...

Cologne Cathederal

Neuschwanstein Castle

You will most definately have to make sure you check back here in September to here all about it first! Guten Nacht!

Work, Nails Did, Help

Saturday after a long day of work, myself OL and TT went for pedi's and a movie. OL was celebrating the removal of her boot after she stress broke her foot after a narley surfing accident, and it was the first time her piggies had seen daylight in sometime so we went out on the town. We had a great time and I think TT enjoyed the special massaging chair maybe a smidge too much.

Then it was off to the movies. You may remember several months back when the Page Turners read The Help and we were very excited when we found out there was going to be a movie. The last time we did a book vs. movie was Eat Pray Love. That didn't go so well, people who loved the book thought the movie was ok, if you hated the book you like the movie. I think no matter how you feel about the book in this case or even if you haven't read the book you'll love the movie.

I laughed, I cried and laughed some more. It's so sad to watch a movie like that knowing that it wasn't that long ago that our country was a very different place. I know things aren't great but I think we've come a long way in acceptance of others, it's so sad that we just can't all get along and treat everyone the same.

Obviously the movie can't include everything that is in the book, but I think it hits all the highlights. The cast was great and Sissy Spacek was hilarious in the movie, I think she kind of stole the show. I highly recommend this movie even if you haven't read the book, I think after you see it, you'll want to go read it.

Butt Off Couch

I've been lazy but enough is enough. This cool weather was just the motivation I needed. As soon as I got home after working some more OT, I changed out of my work clothes and put on some comfy work out clothes and headed out the door.. 3miles out the door. I know it's no marathon and I walked didn't run, but I've got to re-start somewhere.

Tonights walk was brought to you by:
Pandora Radio Goo Goo Dolls station- Thank you Pandora for your soothing tunes to help calm myself from a long day of work.

iMapMyRun- the fabulous free app for iphone (and other markets) that uses your phones GPS to track your route. Keeping track of time, total distance, pace and calories burned. Pretty awesome for a free app, and you can post to your favorite social media via Twitter or Facebook.

Custom Shoe Insoles- thanks for keeping my arches supported and feet happy. Much thanks.

Note: I am not a paid spokesperson, I got notta for giving my two cents. Happy Trails!

Somebody Grab Toto

Tornado sirens screaming was not the way I wanted to be awaken from my nap. Yes I take naps sometimes, if you don't you totally should. So I hear the sirens kind of half ass going off, I look outside and sunshine, seriously not a drop of rain was received here at North of 10th, and we could have used it. The sirens went off like 3 more times, everything went north of us, all that drama for nothing.

Next order of business, the best of reality television guilty pleasure known as bachelor Pad has returned. This show is the biggest glob of backstabbing, man tears, bleached blonde, fakefest I have ever seen and I couldn't be more excited that it is back. These girls are ridiculous. My favorite part are the girls who have come back for yet another round, hoping that this time they will find love... again, on the same reality show, amazing. AND as if it couldn't get any better, Jake and Vienna sausage are back in the same house. I cannot wait to see how this all unfolds.

I think everyone has a list of websites that they check on a daily basis. I've grown quite fond of checking CNN.com and I ran across this article the other day http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/web/08/04/snail.mail.email/index.html    in a nutshell, the article basically talks about how no one actually sits down and really writes a handwritten letter anymore. Most everything is in electronic font. Think about it too, how often do you even see your own handwriting anymore? I've become quite fond of post-it notes lately so I write here and there. But I thought it was such a cute idea, a group of volunteers take emails and turn them into snail mail letters, because really what is more fun than getting a real piece of mail, anything other than bills is much appreciated.

So I thought it would be fun to challenge you all to write a good old fashioned snail mail letter to someone. Write your mom or your best friend, send a letter of thanks to a soldier overseas or send your favorite teacher a letter of thanks. Buy some cute stationary and a pretty pen and write a letter!
