Remember Monday...

You know, Monday, the day of the no choice snow day. Where we had about 11" of snow on the ground. Well you wouldn't know it by the weekend we had.

The weather we had on Friday was amazeballs. So much so that I went out on a limb and bought some rollerblades. Sure I might get weird looks through town but I don't care. I'm a kid of the 90's and I grew up with rollerblades, and it's more fun than running and a good exercise too.

The weather was even so nice, the cover came off the bike and out of the shed for a ride around town

If Saturday had been more like Friday, that would have been ideal. With several and I mean several layers, the Rural Renegades geared up, braved the cold and wind and headed to the big city for the annual Blessing of the Bikes. Tons of bikes were there this year even though the weather was less than ideal. They even had to start the blessing early because the parking lot was filling up so much!

Here's a few pics from the day...

It's a fun event that I look forward to every year, it's the official start of the riding season.

The No Choice Snow Day

A no choice snow day is not really the way you want to come about a snow day, while I'll take it, tis bittersweet. Like a kid on Christmas morning (haha get it snow) I eagerly called the work weather line hoping for a recorded message of splendor letting me know I can sleep in... Instead I get this crap message that Indiana is opening late, and everyone else get up and come to work! Boooo! Then I see the tweet... my road to work is CLOSED! As in do not pass go, might as well stay in bed since you have no where to go. You see the sad part of a no choice snow day is you have no choice, and you'll have to use your personal time to make up for it... lame. So thanks I guess Spring snow, you tricky devil.

I had to beat gpa out the door to get to the shovel so he didn't hurt himself... old people, everything has to be done now. I definitely got a work out in today, whew! That snow is heavy, and I was sweating, it's actually kind of a nice day if there wasn't ELEVEN FREAKING INCHCES OF SNOW on the ground! I texted OL today to make sure she wasn't going to venture out either, fear not she's going to make a cake today and nap.... sounds perfect!

Here I give you a few pictures from the both exciting and tragic day know as the no choice snow day....

Before: March 24

After: March 25

That's a 12" ruler... looks like 11" of snow to me

Poor Oliver is going stir crazy, he just wants to play in the snow

I call this one Snow nom
It looks like someone sitting in the chair eating snow

It's up to the top of my boots!

At least one side was kind clear

Here's a snow covered tree in case you didn't know what that looked like

Thanks USPS! Rain or snow they deliver.
What a great snow day treat, my 2013 motorcycle accessories catalog!

Dear Spring,
Please arrive soon, we had made arrangements for you to come early since your little rodent friend Phil said you'd be here. No worries that you're late, we just really want to see you!
Love,
Everyone in Illinois

Status Unchanged

I wish I had something terribly exciting and new to tell you, but it's been a pretty mediocre week. It snowed like everyday, and allegedly there is a winter storm warning out for the county heading into tomorrow. Bleh, it only counts if I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

In some exciting news, North of 10th turned 3 on Saturday! I've really come to love my blog. While it had rough beginnings and several long hiatus breaks, it's randomness is who I am. I hope in the months to come there will be many great things I can write about and share with my loyal followers.

I'd like to give a shoutout to my commenters who often pass along words of wisdom and well wishes. OL, Page Turner, the Mrs. and Big Boca Bob. They always say people come into your lives for a reason, though I haven't met all, I like to think of you as my little blog guardian angels, who pop in and out every once in awhile with encouraging words, or even just dropping by to read the blog leaves me with a little more confidence in myself just knowing that people make an effort to stop by and see whats up. LGrace you too ;)

This blog truly is filled with my stories, my dreams and more than a few random thoughts, all from the quiet brick streets of my small town. So thank you everyone for reading my little blog, I hope on at least one occasion you've left with a smile :)

Thanks!
