and It's Only Saturday

Whoa what a weekend so far. Having the day off on Friday was awesome, except for the fact that I was up at 7 (on my day off remember!) to take my car to get fixed. Then come 3:30 it was time to pack up and head to St. Louis for the Cubs/Cardinals game. We didn't get home until 2am. I was zonked.

Yes it was incredibly hot but luckily we had a nice breeze most of the time up in the section where we were. Unfortunately my dear Cubbies lost which sadly was basically expected. They have given up for the year it seems, I guess I don't blame them. When you are so far out of first might as well coast and earn your millions the easy way, putting forth just enough effort not to get fired, I like your style Chicago.

Now Saturday has rolled around and that means even more things to do. I was going to leave whether or not I attended either of the two events I'm about to tell you up to mother nature and what she thought I needed for sleep, and apparently I was good on 7 hrs (I would have liked more). Today was a big day for our town's 2nd Annual Dog Day's Celebration. There was a 5k this morning (maybe next year?) a flea market, car show, bike show and lots of things to do starting in the morning.

My brother (who is going to be a senior this year FYI) was helping at Safety Town which is basically a small mock up of a town and kids can learn the rules of the road, well sort of. He also works with the High Schools License to Live program which helps educate young drivers of the distractions possible while driving. So when he texted me this morning, I got up and going. He had to be up early (weekend early) to help set up and I guess he thought I should be too... he likes to cheer on my bike show victories and wanted to make sure I was still bringing the bike over to the park.

I was debating as to whether or not to put my bike in the bike show they had, it takes alot of energy to get it all cleaned up and looking sharp enough to compete. So I spent a good portion of my morning just looking for my cleaning supplies which had been misplaced. I was thisclose to giving up the search and calling it a wash (haha made a funny) when all my rags and soaps were located (darn!). So cue the morning sun and scorching temperatures (where is this stupid cold front already?!) It was hot and I was sweaty, not cool. But I went ahead and went anyway, it was another default victory. One of my friends says it's because the competitors are too scared to enter.. it's a nice thought. So it's kind of a bummer to win by default but at least I'm doing it and getting to know more people who are interested in motorcycling.

cell phone pic, sorry it's fuzzy
Then after that was over there was a family reunion of sorts going on as well. I don't get details I just get told when and where to show up usually about an hour before I should be there (thanks mom!). This time at least it was worth it! My most favorite/coolest Georgian Aunt & Uncle were visiting! I don't get to see them too often but I sure am glad to see them when I do. I even got a blog shout out (thanks for reading!)

So that was my action packed Friday/Saturday. I am totally tired should have taken a nap today, will probably go to bed early and be completely worthless tonight. Who knows what tomorrow holds. Have I mentioned that I'm very ready for fall and totally over baseball ready for football? Here are a few more pictures from the weekend thus far...
