Today we had a discussion about my Google addiction, I may need to seek help but I feel like Google makes me a better person. This is how it works: I say I'm ready for Fall, Halloween is in Fall and I like Halloween, then as I sit here in Germany I wonder if they too celebrate Halloween and then it's Dear Google, but I digress.
We had a short train ride today of about 30 minutes from Schweinfurt to Würzburg. As soon as you step off the train you are greeted by hills of vineyards right outside the train station.
We walked around a bit to find some lunch. Did I mention that it was a beautful day, a bit breezy at times but the temperature was perfect! So we found a place to sit outside and enjoy the weather. I had Bratwurst, and mashed taters and a seven up :) (still no ice tea)
We sat in the shadow of this church and visited a few more after that. Churches are interesting. I liked the doors.
St. Mary's Chapel
Neumünster Church
Our final stop for the day was The Wurzburg Residenz. The tour guide we had was amazing. It was a very interesting place. Some of the Residenz was destroyed by the bomb that hit Wurzburg. You'll have to Google to see some pictures of the inside, but here is what we saw on the outside.
The last picture is a parting view of Wurzburg looking at the vineyards on the hill and the fortress.
We ended the night with dinner, another Doner kebab, yep still delish! Here's a picture since I didn't have one last time.
Today's German Observation:
- Nuns were running around all over the city (ok not running they were all like 80, but one was spotted on a bicycle)
