Eric Church

Well hello there friends. It's been awhile since we've chatted. Pardon my absence, I haven't done anything fun for many moons. But alas! The drought is over. And I even have my next couple saturdays filled with fun!

Last night we headed out to see the AMAZING Eric Church with Brantley Gilbert and Blackberry Smoke! If you don't like Eric Church we can't be friends... for real. I've seen Eric three times now the first time being a really small venue when he was first starting out and fell in love with his on stage energy and of course his music!

This concert sold out in 24 minutes. We had floor seats. I'm too old for floor seats. I enjoy my own personal space bubble to not be intruded upon by drunken country folk with their beer ever so close to spilling down my back. I also enjoy not having fat man arm pit in my face as they are raising their arm to say rock on. I'd also prefer not to bear witness to three tweens having a mini photo shoot in front of my face, seriously how many fishy face this is me in the front row pics do you need for your facebook profile?! There were a few tussles of drunk men, and a girl passed out cold before the concert even started..life on the floor.
But alas I survived the first two acts and a few songs of Eric before my I don't feel comfortable being this close to the people next to me patience was gone and moved back to where a could raise or lower my hands. and apparently after I departed for cooler air I missed the puking ralley that happened just feet from where I had been standing. No thank you. No more floor, I will gladly take a seat and enjoy from afar.

But if you have like Eric Church I highly recommend checking him out. Amazing show!

Blessing of the Bikes

Every year on the Saturday before Easter the Btown Harley dealer hosts an open house and annual Blessing of the bikes. I've been to a total of 3, 2 on my own bike. This was the second year in a row that the weather cooperated and today was a beautiful day to get outside and ride!

Lots of bikes made it out!

Have a safe and happy riding season!

Holy Moly It's April Already

My appologies for my absence, who knew how easy lazy is. To be honest tonight is the first time in awhile that I have really just sat down and surfed or turned on the tv in a bit. Learning new things is slightly stressful and training for my new job has put me out of my comfort zone and made me lazy when I get home. I know it's good for me but that doesn't mean I like it. Most of my stress is self enduced. I dislike not knowing what I'm doing starting out and I question myself a lot. But the only good way to learn is to just do it, which is what we are doing tomorrow, putting everything I've learned out there to the public.

So that's what's been going on in my neck of the woods, not a whole lot.

Pinch Me I Must Be Dreaming

Does the temperature really read 68 degrees at 9:30 at night?! While global warming does seem problematic to the future of the planet, I'm totally cool with it. I know this won't last and snow could come one last time but I shall enjoy it all the same.

It was so nice to get the bike out this weekend. Just the few months it was away I had forgotten how freeing and relaxing the bike is.  It really is great therapy and allows you to just clear your mind of all the stress and for a little while just forget about everything. It's still hard for me to get the compliments of me, a girl, having a motorcycle. I'm usually really hard on myself and quick to dismiss compliments, but its really hard to ignore them about me and my bike. I've had so many people tell me how awesome it is that I ride and having the bike has helped me a little bit with taking compliments and being a little more confident in myself and to just believe (my 2012 word) in myself.

Having a new job with new things to learn I find myself in a spot I haven't been in for a very long time. I'm out of my normal routine, I don't know what I'm doing yet, I'm surrounded by a completely different group of people that I don't know and I won't lie, it's been rough. The training regime at work isn't the most thought out plan and all the unknowns is stressing me out. I find myself questioning whether or not I made the right decision and was it worth all this extra work and stress that I put on myself. I miss my everyday peeps (this means you OL) just knowing they were a stones throw away was enough to ease my nerves when anything came up. I know they are only and IM or email, or two floors down but it's enough away to make me feel disconnected. I try to make daily appearance whether or not they are appreciated ;)

I'm glad though. I needed change in the worst way. I've said from the beginning this is the year I put myself first and work on me for a change. Although it may seem like I've flaked on my fitness goals, I haven't. February was the black hole of despair and sickness, we're going to forget it happened and move forward. You'll notice the Warrior Dash countdown is still going strong over there to the right, 94 days and counting. June is my looming deadline. I want to be shaped up for vacation and beaches and kick some ace in the dash. A lot can happen in a few months and I hope a lot does. Spring is a time for renewal and this warm weather is getting me motivated to get out and about. So here's to the 70's in March, motorcycles and more motivation.

March 6th Random Thoughts

As I'm sitting here waiting for my NyQuil coma to kick in, here's the random thoughts going through my head.

- Happy 100th Birthday Oreo's! Did anyone else celebrate with a snack size mcflurry? (don't judge it was in celebration)
- It was going to be a snack blizzard but our stupid DQ makes it's own hours apparently.. seriously WTF?!
- Where does so much snot come from? My nose has been a snot factory in overdive the past few days.
- I was bummed I didn't feel well enough to run in the 5k over the weekend. BWurm ran it in 23 minutes and was complaining prior that he hadn't run in a few days... really?! You will not be my running partner anytime soon there buddy.
- I wish NyQuil was instantaneous
- Any kind of get better medicine in liquid form looks so scary and never tastes quite as bad as you remember.
- seriously I still cannot walk into the bathroom and even glance in the general direction of the mirror without the light on....still.
- Kleenex Cold Touch tissures are super amazing, how do they do that?
- I started a new job on Monday... well training for a new job. It's very boreing. It's all web-based, it's a very quiet room with everyone listening to their training on headphones not really talking.
- Blowing your nose in a silent room is quite embarassing.
- They announced Friday afternoon that Friday was my last day.
- I haven't watch TV for two days. I didn't even turn the TV on tonight.
- I'm really glad we have DVR's... what would we do with out them?
- I don't wear a watch anymore, I miss my watch, it needs a new battery. Maybe I'll fix it and start wearing my watch again.
- I unsubscribed to numerous unnecessary newsletters I was receiving. I hope that will declutter my inbox a bit, I never read them anyway.
- Is it winter or spring?
- time changes this weekend, Spring Forward! :)
- I've been enjoying my Nook. It's sparked my reading interest again.
- Tomorrow is 'Dip Day' in the training unit where I am currently implanted. I'm making BLT Dip, do you have a favorite dip?
- Tomorrow is yoga, I'm excited for that. Except for the stupid girl that was beside me last time, I'm going to try to not sit by her this time.
- I got my hair cut. You can't tell, it was just a trim. I feel better though. My hair has gotten really long, I like!
- 87 Days until I get 15 days of vacation days added (Happy 5 year anniversary at SF to me!)
- I am in love with Savannah, Georiga. I want to live there and explore.
- I watched Oprah's next chapter with Paula Deen, her accent reminds me of my Grandma Min, who isn't my grandma at all. I'll tell you about Grandma Min later this week stay tuned!
- Can you become slightly germaphobic out of nowhere as you age? I cannot touch the door handle in public bathrooms or work anymore without a paper towel in hand. Weird I know.
- The 100th Anniversary of the Titanic is this year. In rememberence I will be seeing Titanic and cry...... don't let go Jack!
- Oreos? Titanic? What else happened 100 years ago?
- How strict do you think the dosage for NyQuil is, double shot anyone?

Thanks for tuning in. This concludes the random stream of thoughts from inside my brain for tonight. Come back real soon, ya hear?

Nook'd Up

A.Drama.B and I went shopping a bit. We both enjoyed a much needed pedicure and ran some errands. We are taking a yoga class that starts on Wednesday and had to get yoga mats and before we headed home we popped into Barnes.
I've been eyeing an e-reader for awhile and since no one would buy me one I decided I deserved something new.. and I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. Won't lie it was a little big of an impulse buy. I knew I wanted a color and I knew I wanted a touch screen.

I normally would have researched the heck out of a purchase like this. But I went with the Nook Tablet. I like being able to take it to the store should anything happen to it. I think this will help motivate me to read more. I LOVE that I can read magazines on the Nook, it's pretty much my favorite part! I love to read magazines but they are so big and you can't easily carry multiple ones around. You can even check out books from the Library! I'm pretty happy with my purchase, I needed a new toy. :D

The Black Hole of February

February has been like a black hole in the calendar year. I have accomplished next to nothing this month. I'm pretty much ready for it to just be over and on to March already. I think everyone is ready for Spring to finally take up permanent residence.

I did manage to get out of the house last night and I got all dressed up too! I went to a murder mystery dinner with a Mardi-Gras theme. I played on a team where Belle Arcenaux was our lead character.

Belle Arcenaux is the catty urbanite housewife that knows absolutely everyone’s business in the neighborhood. A rich source of the latest gossip, Belle keeps the drama going among the wives of the French Quarter. The saying ‘keep your enemies close’ explains why Belle has a flock of her ‘friends’ with her at all time. They all know that if they’re with Belle –they won’t be the subject of any malicious tittle-tattle!

Here's a few pics, I'm pretty sure this is going to become my new weekend attire. I look hot!

Birthday Week: A Day-by-Day

Monday: Monday, blah, blah. Typical, nothing to report.

Tuesday: Blaher, nothing to report

Wednesday: Happy 26th Birthday to me! I got lots of nice texts and facebook birthday wishes from my friends! Thank you all so much! I had birthday pizza dinner with the family and ate way too much. * Happy Birthday to me * Upgraded my phone to the new iPhone 4s!! :D I love it.

Thursday: Blah again, wish it was Friday. Nothing to report.

Friday: OL gave me a good scolding on my lack of gym/eating well this week I was sad, but she was right. She wouldn't even let me make any excuses, she wasn't havin' it :( then I went to a Hockey game after work, I'd never been before and I liked it, I would definitely go back, so anytime ya wanna go :D

Saturday: Lazy bum day. Procrastinated and put things off I should have been working on. Rented 'Warrior' it was good.

Sunday: Chicago for the International Motorcycle Show AND the Auto show. Long day. I love the Ford Edge. I hate driving around Chicago, people are stupid, roads should not have that many lanes and exits. We survived. and 'The Walking Dead' returned to TV.

Weeeee! Weeeeeeee! Pure.Adrenaline.

This year was a pretty quiet birthday passing, which is bound to happen from time to time. I had great mini-nights of fun low key things with the people who look out for me on a day to day. I don't know what I would do without you guys! Thanks for all the gifts and well wishes. I had a great birthday week!

and don't worry OL back on track this week I promise! :) Wish me luck that I didn't do too much damage this week or at least anything that can't be undone with a little more hardwork and sweat.

The Mythical Magnificent Monday

A magnificent Monday is like a unicorn, you want to believe they exist but find yourself never in the presence of one. Well I won't call today a unicorn but it's the closest I've been in awhile. A Monday of good things. If I didn't have to go to work today it would have been a unicorn.

 - My taxes are done and refund coming soon
 - Good news at work
 - A decently calm day at work
 - I worked 7-3:30
 - and I finally saw the numbers down at Biggest Loser!!! Down 3 lbs!
 - good workout tonight, tomorrow is gonna hurt :)

yay! :D
